U-Pick Apple Orchard

To help keep Apple U-Pick safe and enjoyable for everyone, please review these guidelines before visiting:

• Children must remain with a supervising adult at all times.
• Pick only in orchard rows marked as open for U-Pick.
• Please pick only the amount you plan to purchase.
• All apples picked must be purchased. Please do not discard apples on the ground.
• Use only the picking containers provided or approved by Swans Trail Farms.
• For your safety, climbing trees, shaking branches, and using personal ladders are not permitted.
• Please walk carefully—the orchard has natural, uneven ground, including roots, holes, fallen fruit, and other farm conditions.
• Closed-toe, sturdy shoes are strongly recommended. The orchard may be muddy or slippery.
• Do not enter areas marked closed or cross ropes, fences, or other barriers.
• Please do not throw apples or allow children to play with fruit.
• Service animals are permitted as required by law. Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed.
• Follow all instructions provided by Swans Trail Farms employees and posted signs.

• Orchard staff will let you know which varieties and rows are available.
• Apple availability changes throughout the season and may be limited.
• Apples are sold by pound.
• Outside containers permitted, we also provide containers. All apples must be weighed in our containers at checkout.

Apple U-Pick takes place in a working orchard. Guests may encounter uneven ground, insects, farm equipment, falling fruit, mud, and changing weather conditions. Please remain aware of your surroundings and supervise children closely throughout your visit.

No pets are permitted at the farm or in the orchard.

We do allow trained service animals as defined by ADA guidelines. However, emotional support animals (ESAs) and therapy animals are not permitted.

Part of the appeal of eating local food is the knowledge that it’s been grown responsibly and with extra care. Wash just before use. Apples ripen 10x faster at room temperature than when kept in a refrigerator. Chilled apples should last 90 days.

We grow several delicious apple varieties throughout the season, including favorites like Honeycrisp, Cosmic Crisp®, Ambrosia, Red Reubin, and Jonagold. Since different apples ripen at different times, the available varieties change as the season progresses.

Our orchard is clearly marked with signs showing which varieties are ready for picking. If you have any questions, our friendly farm staff is always happy to point you toward the best apples available that day.

No. For the health of our trees and everyone's safety, please keep your feet on the ground. Many apples are within easy reach, and our staff is happy to help if you need assistance.

Yes! All of our U-Pick apples are grown right here in our orchard. There's nothing quite like picking fresh apples straight from the tree.

Yes! You're welcome to bring your own wagon to help transport apples and little ones through the orchard. Please be mindful of the trees and stay on designated paths whenever possible.

Yes! You're welcome to bring your own reusable bags or containers to carry your apples home. We also provide picking bags and containers if needed.

Absolutely! Our U-Pick Apple Orchard is open to everyone, and no Harvest Festival ticket is required unless you'd like to enjoy the attractions and activities inside the festival.

Apple picking continues rain or shine! In fact, many guests enjoy the orchard on cooler fall days. Just dress appropriately for the weather and wear shoes that can handle a little mud.

Most families spend about 30 minutes to an hour picking apples, though many choose to make it a full day by enjoying the Harvest Festival afterward.

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and dressing for the weather. If it's been rainy, boots are always a great choice since you're visiting a real working orchard.

Our apple season typically begins in early September and continues through October, depending on the weather and crop conditions. Visiting throughout the season gives you the chance to enjoy different apple varieties as they ripen.

Our apples are sold by the pound, so you can pick as few or as many as you'd like. Pricing is posted at the orchard and checkout area during the season.

No! There is no admission fee to visit our U-Pick Apple Orchard. Simply come to the orchard, pick your favorite apples, and pay for what you harvest. Harvest Festival admission is only required if you'd like to enjoy the attractions and activities.
