No dogs our outside animals of any kind will be allowed on the farm at this time. Please DO NOT bring any animals in backpacks, clear backpacks, bags or containers.
We gladly welcome you and your ADA Service Animal, as defined by WA RCW 49.60.040(25), at Swans Trail Farms.
Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Washington State Law and are not allowed on our farm. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
If you choose to misrepresent your animal, WA State Law RCW 7.80.120 has a penalty for such an act of a fine up to $500 and the removal of the animal from the premise. This law also applies to those that choose to deny answering our staff as to the questions we may ask of your animal.
NOTE: A service animal can be excluded from our farm if any of the following situations exist:
The dog is out of control and the handler cannot get the animal under control; or
The dog is not housebroken.
Washington State Law RCW 49.60.040 (25)
“Service animal" means any dog or miniature horse, as discussed in RCW 49.60.214, that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability. The work or tasks performed by the service animal must be directly related to the individual's disability. Examples of work or tasks include, but are not limited to, assisting individuals who are blind or have low vision with navigation and other tasks, alerting individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing to the presence of people or sounds, providing nonviolent protection or rescue work, pulling a wheelchair, assisting an individual during a seizure, alerting individuals to the presence of allergens, retrieving items such as medicine or the telephone, providing physical support and assistance with balance and stability to individuals with mobility disabilities, and helping persons with psychiatric and neurological disabilities by preventing or interrupting impulsive or destructive behaviors. The crime deterrent effects of an animal's presence and the provision of emotional support, well-being, comfort, or companionship do not constitute work or tasks.
