Why do I have to include parents in my booking?
We limit our daily field trip attendance. This includes students, teachers, and parents. If parents will be visiting the farm with you in any capacity (chaperones, helpers, tag alongs, riding on the bus, driving their own car, etc), we need them to be included in your reservation so that we can keep track of our daily attendance. Knowing how many people will be at the farm is important for our staffing and parking. Since most field trips are booked far in advance, a good guess on the number of parents is fine when making your reservation and can be updated closer to your visit.
What forms of payment are accepted for field trips?
Swans Trail Farms accepts school checks and credit cards. A 3% service fee is added to field trip credit card purchases. All payments are due when you check in for your field trip. Purchase Orders are accepted, but must be provided prior to your field trip day.
Where should school buses unload & park?
Your confirmation email will include bus unloading and parking instructions as well as a parking map.
How do we start off our tour of the farm?
After your group has checked in, each group will receive a short orientation with directions to restrooms, rules of the farm, where to meet for lunch, and where to exit the farm, along with other information.
Can I bring a stroller or wagon?
Yes, absolutely! Please note, strollers and wagons do not fit on the wagon ride.
Is the farm wheelchair accessible?
The farm has hard, compact dirt/gravel. For more information, see our Accessibility page.
Are there regular restrooms?
Porta potties are provided, including an ADA unit.
Are parents and siblings welcome to join our field trip?
Yes, we welcome parents and siblings, but it is ultimately up to each school to decide on this. The admission fee for siblings is the same as for the students.. Parents and chaperones are $12 per person. We ask for the school to collect payments for the parents and siblings in advance. We require one payment transaction per field trip.
Can I add or decrease the number of students after my reservation is made?
Yes, of course. Please email email@example.com to make change your reservation. Please be aware that we often reach our maximum attendance for field trip reservations. Please check with us for our availability before adding new participants to your group.
Where do we go when we get to Swans Trail Farms?
The lead teacher should check in for the entire class at our ticket window labeled "Teacher Check In".
Will we have a tour guide?
Our tour leaders will move your group to the different activities and review rules and provide you with a end time.
What if a parent is late?
We will do our best to catch you up with your group.
Are sacks provided for the pumpkins?
No, please provide your own.
What if there is bad weather?
We are open rain or shine, dress for the weather. If we need to cancel due to severe weather, we will call the field trip coordinator to cancel.
Can a family stay longer after the scheduled field trip?
Yes! If you plan to stay after the field trip, you can exchange your field trip wristband for the weekday wristband at the entrance booth. The price of your field trip wristband will be credited to your purchase.
Can we drop in without a reservation?
